The Association serves more than 90,000 registered Senior and Youth members in many ways, including operating select teams and providing the training for provincial and national selections, coordinating almost 100 separate provincial competitions, training referees and coaches to deal with this taxing sport, providing registration services complete with insurance to all members, as well as operating the largest grass-roots sport in the history of this province.

Position: ASA Grassroots Coordinator

Description:
In conjunction with the Technical Director, the Grassroots Coordinator will be responsible for the development and delivery of Alberta Soccer’s Core Grassroots Programs. The successful candidate will provide overall efficient and effective delivery of the Grassroots Core Technical Programs and assist with the Provincial Training Program, the Provincial Select Team Program, and Alberta Summer Games. Assisting in all facets of the technical programs (an annual and multi-year plan including budget preparation), the Grassroots Coordinator will work in consultation with the Player Development Coordinator, the Technical Director, and the ASA Technical Committee, and in alignment with the budget and strategic goals set by the Board of Directors.
Qualifications:
ü Minimum Provincial B License; CSA National B License Coaching Award or equivalent preferred
ü A thorough understanding of the Long Term Athlete Development model
ü Strong organizational skills
ü Willingness to travel
ü Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
ü Intermediate computer skills
Position Requirements:
· Oversee the development and delivery of Alberta Soccer’s Grassroots Development Program;
· Prepare and deliver developmentally appropriate training sessions that are well organized, well planned, and presented with enthusiasm;
· Communicate with and provide support to Member Districts, scouts, and District Head Coaches;
· Communicate with province-wide club technical directors;
· Maintain the highest standards of behaviour and appearance;
· Must demonstrate the ability to work with volunteers in a not-for-profit environment.

AMBROSE LIONS COACHING JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Head Coach; Men’s Futsal
Duration: October 2010 – April 2011
Status: Part-time
Job Summary:
A coach for the Ambrose Lions Athletics provides leadership, implements strategy, acts as a mentor, supervises and coordinates all facets of the athletic team. The coach will combine their knowledge of the sport, assess the skill of the players and use their coaching experience to improve the overall skill level of individual athletes and the team. They will promote team unity and togetherness and desire to develop the athlete on and off the playing field. The coach reports directly to the Athletic Director and they work together to plan, co-ordinate and organize the team.
Qualifications:
NCCP Coaching Certification Level 1 or equivalent experience. Must be a person of good moral character consistent with and in agreement with the standards adhered to amongst other staff and faculty at Ambrose University College. Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written and have very strong organizational and leadership skills. Must be willing to develop relationships with athletes to a point where they are not just growing as an athlete but as a whole person, including academically, spiritually and emotionally.
Responsibilities:
Oversee training camp and make roster selections
Submit appropriate paper work to AD or league (rosters and game sheets)
Plan practices and develop game plans
Work at developing individual skill as well as team strategy/success
Provide leadership and feedback during games
Work with AD to organize road trips, travel plans, exhibition games and tournaments
Attend coaches meetings
Recruit potential players
Cast vision for future of the team
Represent the team and school appropriately at games and practices

Youth Programmer / Huskies Women Soccer Coach
Keyano College
Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre
The Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre at Keyano College requires an enthusiastic, experienced individual for the position of Youth Programmer. This is a full-time permanent position commencing immediately.
Reporting directly to the SSWC Sport Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of exceptional program opportunities for youth program participants. The SSWC Youth Programmer will directly supervise part time program staff, and other personnel as required when delivering services throughout the year, respective of alternating Sport training seasons. The primary responsibility is to ensure the effective delivery of youth sport programming, including all Camp Mocikan initiatives, and providing exceptional “multi-sport” customer service. A major area of emphasis is the provision of drop in youth initiatives and structured sport programming as part of the “Active Start”, FUNdamentals and Learn to Train segment of the various LTAD models.
The SSWC Youth Programmer will also serve Keyano College in both a Coaching and Sport Technical capacity. The successful candidate will fulfill the role of the Women’s Soccer Head Coach, competing in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference in the sports of Outdoor Soccer and Indoor Futsal.
QUALIFICATIONS: Preferable degree in Physical Activity, Recreation Administration, Kinesiology, or Education; including an emphasis on the delivery of Recreation/Sport Camps and Programs/Leagues. Must have a minimum NCCP Level II certification in Theory and working toward a Soccer Canada B License or equivalent, additional sport certifications are considered an asset. Three years progressive supervisory experience within a Sport, Recreation, or an Educational Environment is required. Coaching, leading, administrating, and organizing sport skill development efforts are considered necessary. Secondary experiences include Sport Club management, volunteer management; teaching, sport administration, and conflict resolution are considered an asset for this position.
SALARY: $57,055 per annum plus an attractive benefits package.

MEN’S AND WOMEN’S FUTSAL (INDOOR SOCCER) COACH
ACAC FUTSAL
Health & Wellness Services currently has a contract opportunity for a Men’s and Women’s Futsal Coach. The anticipated term of employment will be from July 2, 2010 to June 30, 2011.
In collaboration with the Director of Health & Wellness, you will be responsible for:
- developing a long term athletic year plan for futsal (technical, psychological, tactical and physical)
- coaching the 2010/11 season, including weekly practices, games, tournaments, weekend ID camps and recruiting
- maintaining effective communication with other coaches, players, athletic faculty and staff
- representing Olds College in the Alberta College Athletic Conference in sport related issues
- supervising all athletes on road trips
- contributing to the long term plan of futsal within the community and surrounding area, and
- contributing to game day operations as needed.
The successful candidate will have experience in coaching elite high school programs or involvement with provincial organizations. You will have a minimum of an NCCP Level I in soccer and be working towards a Level II. Experience in the development of community minor sports would be an asset. The successful candidate must be willing to work flexible hours, primarily evenings and weekends.

REFEREE MENTOR AND COORDINATOR

THE COMPANY
The Calgary Minor Soccer Association is dedicated to working for our member organizations to develop, organize, and promote soccer; and create opportunities that allow all participants to reach their desired level of achievement within the sport.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Referee Mentor & Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all mentoring programs for new referees, with the emphasis being on youth referees between the ages of 12 and 17 years.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Referee Mentor & Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to:
· Organizing entry-level, refresher and conversion courses for CMSA and its clubs;
· Reviewing referee evaluations and following up where necessary;
· Designing and implementing on-field training sessions (indoor), CMSA club (outdoor) referee meetings, and the annual referee seminar (outdoor season);
· Educating the general public through weekly reports, e-mail and phone enquiries;
· Tracking Field Marshall no-shows and contacting teams with default notices when required;
· Acting on behalf of the Discipline Committee to rule and make appropriate notifications;
· Assisting with coordination and implementation of Referee Appreciation Program; and
· Assisting where needed in the front office.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
As an ideal candidate your background will include:
· Regional/Class 2 minimum Registered referee in good standing with Alberta Soccer Association;
· Experience and knowledge of referee organization in Calgary and Alberta;
· Ability to communicate effectively in a calm, patient and professional manner in all situations;
· strong organizational and creative skills; and
· Own transportation as the job requires travel throughout the City.

HUSKIES WOMENS SOCCER COACH

The Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre at Keyano College requires an enthusiastic, experienced individual for the position of Huskies Womens Soccer Head Coach. This is a contract annual position commencing June 1, 2010.
Reporting directly to the SSWC Sport Manager, the Womens Soccer Head Coach will serve Keyano College in both a Coaching and Sport Technical capacity. As a Huskies Head Coach the incumbent will oversee the entire organization, administration and staffing of the Womens Soccer program, including but not limited to the tasks of athlete recruitment, program promotion, and community volleyball outreach.
In addition, our Women’s Soccer Coach may be invited to undertake additional instruction responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS: Preferable degree in Recreation Administration, Kinesiology, or Education; including an emphasis on Event Management. A minimum NCCP Level III certification or the sport equivalent is required. Additional sport certifications are considered an asset. Incumbent must have a history of coaching university or college aged high performance athletes.
