Winter Training: U13 Open Trials

As part of its Excellence Stream, Alberta Soccer will run its U13 Open Trial, from Sept 29-Oct 1, for players wishing to participate in the Winter Training Program.

Registration is NOW OPEN and available to players born in 2005*. The trials, which will take place in both Edmonton and Calgary, will welcome 100 boys and 100 girls at each centre (for a total of 400 players).

Alberta Soccer will use the trials to evaluate potential players for inclusion in the upcoming 2017-18 U13 Winter Training Program. For those unable to attend, the coaches for the Winter Training Program will continue to use league games to scout and evaluate players and may continue to invite players to Winter Training until Feb 9, 2018.

* Exceptional 2006 born players must send a letter from their Club’s Technical Lead to Shaun Lowther indicating they are exceptional in relation to 2005 born players within their club. Alberta Soccer will then scout the players in League games and determine if their level of play warrants an invite to the Winter Training Program.
