Last weekend, the Alberta Soccer Association celebrated its Annual General Meeting at the Wyndham Hotel in Edmonton. Attendees enjoyed a Board of Directors’ Candidates Forum, the election of officers, and a social gathering where our Awards were presented. Below is a detailed list of the elections and awards presented over the weekend:
BoD Elections
In this year’s election, the Membership elected a Vice President, a Director of Finance, two Directors-at-Large, and a Rural Director-at-Large:
- Vice President: Paul Gantar
- Director of Finance: Greg Clarke
- Director-at-Large: Juliamai Giffen
- Director-at-Large: Andre Joseph
- Rural Director-at-Large: Tiffany Fontaine

Alberta Soccer Awards
On Saturday, April18th, 2026, it was time to honour the 2025 Award winners at our Social event. We were joined by several distinguished guests, including Canada Soccer President Peter Augruso, and several of our Life Members.
The award winners list of 2025 include:
- Silver Badge Award – Amaya Myhovich
- Golden Whistle Award – Laurie Hastings
- Coach of the Year Award – Kris Leschert
- Bert Goldberger Technical Leader Award – Ramon Mifflin
- Woman of Distinction – Kerrie-Lee Scott
- Award of Merit – Kerrie-Lee Scott / Stu Murray
- Organisation of Distinction – FC Viktoria
- Life Membership – Joe Petrone (Posthumous)
