Building on the foundational 8-hour Futsal Certificate, the Alberta Soccer Futsal Diploma provides a 35-hour in-depth look into the fast-paced and dynamic world of futsal.

This advanced course is designed for coaches with a basic understanding of the game who are actively coaching in leagues, tournaments, or Futsal Cups. Combining independent study, live collaborative sessions, and in-person training, the diploma gives coaches the skills and knowledge to create meaningful futsal environments that support player development.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course covers the origins, rules, systems, and tactical details of futsal, guiding coaches through core skills, attacking and defending principles, and specific player roles within the 5v5 format. Coaches will learn age-appropriate strategies for both youth and senior levels, analyze player and coach behaviour during game moments, and enhance their technical understanding of futsal movements, rotations, and utilize the goalkeeper as an attacking option.

Spread over six modules, the diploma explores game knowledge, coaching philosophy, player development, futsal-specific fitness and skills, and the design of training sessions. Coaches will complete competency assessments and leave prepared to manage matches confidently, design purposeful training environments, and improve their team’s futsal performance with clearer tactics and better technical execution. Whether you want to specialise in futsal or broaden your coaching skills, the Futsal D Diploma is an important step in unlocking your players’ full potential in a game that fosters creativity, speed, and intelligence.
