(October 10, 2019) A Canada Soccer Integration Camp will take place in Calgary from October 18-20, featuring 2004 and 2005 born players from throughout the province. In addition to player identification and tracking, the Canada Soccer staff will run presentations for players, parents, coaches, and technical staff throughout the event.

“This integration is key to providing players opportunities to be seen and promoted into our youth National Teams” said Jordan Stewart, Alberta Soccer Regional Coach South. “It will be great to have a second round of evaluations this year to see where some players are at and to continue to track the players who were involved in the first integration series in July.”

About Canada Soccer’s Regional Excel (REX) Integration Strategy

-from Canada Soccer –

Canada Soccer has collaborated with its provincial member associations to pilot Men’s Regional EXCEL visits to work with talented U-13 to U-16 players as well as elite-level coaches from across the country as part of the Canada Soccer Pathway. The visits provide a comprehensive training and informal education program that integrates the Men’s EXCEL tactical and cultural framework within the provincial systems.

From a player-development standpoint, the Regional EXCEL approach enhances the scouting and talent development opportunities across our Provincial pathways ensuring more players are not only monitored more often, but these young aspiring players gain a unique access to the Men’s EXCEL tactical and cultural frameworks.

Canada Soccer Men’s EXCEL staff will work with the provincial technical staff to deepen their understanding of the EXCEL tactical and cultural framework with the aim of synergizing this critical part of the player pathway. During the visits, the Men’s EXCEL staff will share the Men’s National Team tactical identity and team culture concepts with elite-level coaches through EXCEL Framework workshops while also assessing high-potential players for future EXCEL activities to widen our player base for Men’s EXCEL Program.

Canada Soccer’s Men’s EXCEL Program channels our nation’s exceptional players into the best soccer environments. The Canada Soccer Pathway works in collaboration with our provincial and territory partners as well as the professional clubs and academies. For Canada’s elite players, the program emphasizes player development on the pathway to representing Canada’s Men’s National Team in international soccer.
