Concussion Recommendations and Strategy

Information and recommendations about concussions can sometimes be difficult to navigate for coaches. The Alberta Concussion Alliance was initiated to help provide some clarity and strategic direction around prevention of, and safe recovery from, sport and recreation-related concussions.

In collaboration with the Alberta Concussion Alliance, we developed and published our Concussion Protocol and Policy in January 2016. We also recommend keeping a copy of the Pocket Concussion Recognition Tool.

If you are a Coach looking to take a course on concussion management, we recommend the Making Headway Concussion eLearning Session from  coach.ca

All coaches must complete the Making Ethical Decisions (MED) multi-sport module in their province to complete their program.
Please Click on “Search and Register for a Course” Tab under the “Courses” Menu to search &/or register for all coaching clinics & programs
