From Canada Soccer:
Minimum 12 months and a maximum of 18 months. Online modules + In situ practical sessions + online course work + 5-day residential workshop + demonstration of competency + video mentorship
Upon successful completion of the A Licence, the coach will be able to demonstrate the competencies associated with coaching and managing players in the Performance Stream, including designing, delivering and reflecting on all aspects of on and off field activities.
Those coaches working actively with players aged 18+ in a University, College or Professional Club environment.
Successful candidates are required to have the following certifications:
- Current coaching role;
- Valid Canadian coaching qualifications;
- Previous coaching experience;
- Endorsement of Provincial/Territorial Member Association and current club/academy;
- Candidates may be required to complete an interview process
Access to online learning management system; Canada Soccer branded Nike kit (not including boots and trainers); access to Canada Soccer session planning software (1-year subscription); all course components and equipment, including notebooks and course material; Respect in Sport Activity Leader program, accommodations and food during the residential workshop; review, feedback and evaluation of all course content.
