(February 27, 2018) Over the weekend, Alberta Soccer members gathered in Edmonton for the Alberta Soccer Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Awards Banquet. The weekend was an opportunity for members to discuss and vote on current issues, review the ongoing Strategic Plan, and to elect members to the Alberta Soccer Board.

In this year’s election, the membership elected a Vice President, Director of Finance, Rural Director, and Director-at-large:

  • Vice President – Danny Bowie (Sherwood Park)
  • Director of Finance – Julie Beschell (Edmonton)
  • Rural Director – Jeannie Hawksworth (Rocky Mountain House)
  • Director-at-large – Maureen Keough (Calgary)

Awards Banquet
On Saturday, nearly 250 people gathered at the Delta Edmonton South to celebrate 2017’s award winners and enjoy a keynote presentation from The Power of Yes team, Graham Neil and Donovan Workun. The awards recognized those who have made outstanding achievements in the past year, as well as recognized those who have made considerable contributions to our game. The winners who were honoured on Saturday include:
