(May 17, 2019) Alberta Soccer is pleased to welcome its new Competitions Coordinator, Jeannie Hawksworth. Jeannie comes to this position with a professional background, having worked as a Chartered Accountant for nearly a decade. In addition to her professional experience, Jeannie has served the soccer community in many capacities: as a player and coach at various levels of play, as a member of Alberta Soccer’s Board of Directors and as a Grassroots Coordinator for Rocky Mountain Knights Soccer.

Her high degree of professionalism, paired with her passion and commitment to the sport, will bring value to the Association and the thousands of Albertans who participate in competitions at the provincial level each season.

“We received a number of quality applications for the position and we are delighted that we were able to offer the position to a highly-qualified candidate,” said Shaun Lowther, Alberta Soccer Executive Director. “The multi-faceted skill set required for an effective Competitions Coordinator is difficult to find and it became quite evident to the hiring committee that Jeannie possesses the tools to make an impact in Alberta Soccer Competitions that will be of major benefit to the players and coaches that attend.

The Position

The Competitions Coordinator is responsible for the successful planning and execution of all Alberta Soccer related competitions. The primary areas of responsibility include:

  • Overseeing 100+ Provincial Competitions
  • Chairing the Alberta Soccer Competitions Committee
  • Monitoring and updating Alberta Soccer Competition Rules
  • Coordinating the Alberta Major Soccer League operations
  • Assisting with any Alberta-hosted CSA National Club Championships and/or Multi Sport Competitions

Jeannie will begin at Alberta Soccer on Monday, June 3, 2019.
