Shaun brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience to this position, and the Alberta Soccer Board of Directors and members of staff look forward to working with him in this new capacity.

“Shaun has shown a lifelong dedication to the “beautiful game” from his early days as a player to his most recent journey as the ASA Technical Director. He brings not only great technical skills and knowledge to his new role, but a desire to see the ASA grow not only from a technical perspective but also in every aspect of our activities,” said Shaun Hammond, Alberta Soccer President. “I look forward to working with Shaun as we move ahead with the implementation of our strategic initiatives.”

Looking forward to his new role, Shaun Lowther said, “I am honored to have been presented with this opportunity to assist the Alberta Soccer Membership, Board of Directors and Staff in continuing on the path of the Alberta Soccer Vision: to create “a centre of excellence for the game, providing opportunities for all players to reach their full potential”! I am under no illusions that all of us need to bear down and continue to adjust to the ever-evolving landscape of soccer, not only here in Alberta but throughout Canada and beyond. We will face a lot of challenges and successes in the years to come, but with the foundation laid down by Richard Adams and all before me, I am confident that we will all continue to move the game forward here in Alberta.”

Having worked very closely with Shaun over the past several years, Richard Adams wishes Shaun the best as Alberta Soccer’s new Executive Director, “I am very excited to see Alberta Soccer continue to grow under the leadership of Shaun, with the continued strong support from the staff. With guidance from the Board and Membership, Shaun will lead Alberta Soccer to new heights”.
