(July 18, 2018) For the second year, Alberta Soccer Technical Staff will run a Rural Player ID Camp for teams made up of 2005 and 2006 born players.

The event is “designed to give those from smaller centers and rural communities a chance to have a positive soccer experience, to learn about the excellence stream and to get identified for possible inclusion in the Provincial Team’s Winter Training Program.”

This year’s camp will be held in Red Deer from September 7-9.

In 2017, the camp welcomed nearly 200 players from Central Alberta, Lakeland, Foothills, Northwest Peace, Big Country, Fort McMurray, and Medicine Hat Soccer Associations. The participants engaged in training sessions, educational presentations, and matches, where they were able to showcase their talent to Alberta Soccer staff.

For those in small centres or rural communities who wish to learn more about the Camp, please contact your local district’s office.
