(December 6, 2017) Alberta Soccer is pleased to announce that Jim Loughlin, current Manager of Coaching Development, will be taking on a new role as the Director of Coach Education and Player Development for the Association, effective immediately.

Nearly two years ago, Jim joined the Alberta Soccer team, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion for soccer. Over that time, he has helped elevate our sport across the province, with his commitment to implementing the Canada Soccer Coaching Program and aligning with the Long-Term Player Development principles.

“Alberta Soccer has an abundance of exceptional soccer minds and leaders,” said Jim. “I’m looking forward to working alongside them to support the growth of the game across the province.”

“I have known Jim Loughlin for a number of years,” explained Shaun Lowther, Executive Director Alberta Soccer. “Our first interaction as coaches was on the Canada Soccer “A” Licence course back in 2005 and I was very impressed with his enthusiasm and knowledge of the game. I am pleased that he has agreed to step up and oversee the Technical Department of Alberta Soccer – allowing for a seamless transition.”

Please join the Alberta Soccer team in welcoming Jim as the new Director of Coach Education and Player Development.
