(September 15, 2017) – Nearly 200 players from rural Alberta met in Ponoka last weekend to showcase their skills in the hopes of being invited to to the upcoming Alberta Soccer Winter Training Program.

Male and female teams, featuring players of distinction from Central Alberta, Lakeland, Foothills, Northwest Peace, Big Country, Fort McMurray, and Medicine Hat Soccer Associations, enjoyed a weekend of exposure to Alberta Soccer’s Provincial Level programming. Participants took part in educational presentations, training sessions, and competitive games.

The presentations, which were led by members of Alberta Soccer’s technical team, were streamlined for players, parents, and coaches. They focused on:

  • Players – the AB Player Pathway and player characteristics
