(March 13, 2019) Over the weekend, 66 teams gathered from across the province to compete in Alberta Soccer’s inaugural 7v7 Championships.
“The 7 v 7 Alberta Soccer Championship pilot held last weekend at the Edmonton Soccer Dome and Edmonton Victoria Soccer Club was a great success. The standard of play and the enthusiasm of the participating teams as a whole enabled the individual players to showcase their abilities and to play with freedom and expression,” said Shaun Lowther, Alberta Soccer Executive Director. “A special thank-you goes out to the referees, coaches and volunteers who helped make the tournament a fun-filled event that laid the foundation for future Indoor Provincial Championships in the Boardless format.”
