For many of the players, this is the last opportunity for them to represent Alberta, and Alberta Soccer looks forward to seeing them compete and enjoy the experience at the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games.
Training Camp
Team Alberta enjoyed a positive outlook coming out of the training camp in Edmonton. Over the three days, the teams spent critical time together, both on and off the field. Classroom sessions, on field training, and quality bonding time with teammates had the squads heading into the Western Canada Games with a better sense of who they are and what they aim to achieve at the Games.
“The players have come together and every single one of them have been brilliant to work with over the past few days,” said Jordan Stewart, Alberta Soccer Regional Coach. “They are ready for the Western Canada Summer Games and looking forward to showing the best of themselves.”
The Games
Soccer events got underway on the first day of the Games – with the girls playing in the morning and the boy’s team in the afternoon. Both teams played Northwest Territories, with the girls side earning a 10-0 result and the boys winning 3-0.
