(March 8, 2017) Alberta Soccer is excited to announce that today, on International Women’s Day, early-bird registration is now open for the annual Women in Soccer Conference. In pursuit of its mission, this event, which is taking place in Red Deer from May 5-7, will offer a unique, supportive environment in which the attendees can grow, connect, and learn.
“The ASA’s Development of Women in Soccer Committee exists to promote, support and increase the numbers of female participants in our game,” says Carmen Charron, ASA Programs Coordinator, “So we’re really excited to offer the female community something that just doesn’t exist elsewhere in Alberta, and possibly even in Western Canada!”
Whether you’re seeking leadership sessions, coaching a team and weighing the benefits of gaining certification, considering becoming a referee, or are already actively involved and simply looking for developmental opportunities – attending the Women in Soccer Conference will be a great investment. Tickets are being offered at an incredible value! Early bird ticket prices are between $75-200, which includes all meals, social activities, certification costs (when applicable), and accommodation (if required). And with four different registration options, there’s something for everyone.
The conference boasts an impressive line-up of female presenters including national sporting executives, Olympic medalists, FIFA referees, and nationally trained coaches – many of whom will also be attending the weekend’s social networking events and panel sessions.
“The beauty of many of these workshops and sessions is the level of transferability they provide. Sure, the conference is designed specifically for women in the soccer community,” Carmen explains, “but the skills and insight participants gain will undoubtedly apply to their work and home lives outside of soccer as well.”
