(November 12, 2019) Alberta Soccer Grassroots has launched its invitation for new community partners to host one of five FUNdamentals Festivals in 2020. The FUNdamentals Festival is a specific three-year program that seeks to support communities in implementing the Preferred Training Model and associated Long Term Player Development models within community programming. The two programs advocated by Canada Soccer and Alberta Soccer, aim to help coaches, parents and players focus upon player development over team-based performance goals.

  • $2000 Implementation Grant to support the hosting of this initial event
  • 8-16 Coaches trained to NCCP FUNdamentals Level
  • 80 Children to be supported in a fun Festival model session
  • $500 Coach Development Grant for an identified Technical Leader
  • Full training and support resources for this and future programs

Who should apply: Any community who feels they can recruit 8-16 coaches and 80 children (aged 7-9 years) to host an event. This event does not need to be from a singular applicant but may be shared across club’s and communities.

How to Apply: Follow the application link (below) and read the hosting information and criteria, before returning the application. The Manager of Grassroots Development will then liaise with all applicants before hosting the 5 new 2020 FUNdamentals Festival partners.
