(November 3, 2017) Congratulations to Melissa Pope, the most recent Soccer Parent of the Month winner! Melissa was nominated by a member of Calglen Soccer for the passion and support she gives her children and their soccer club:
“As a current skills trainer and coach for Calglen soccer, I have had the pleasure of working with Melissa over the past few years. I have become increasingly inspired by the amount of support she displays for her two children who both play at the U16 level, but also by the amount of work and time she invests as one of two volunteer Vice Presidents of the club. Not only is she committed to ensuring that her children have, and continue to have, a positive soccer experience, she is committed to ensuring that every single player in the club is valued. In addition to being an event planner during the day, she spends countless hours helping answer coach’s questions, organizing balanced teams, running evaluations, developing program structures, and stepping in as needed as a “back up back up” coach so that all kids can have an opportunity to learn and grow in an open and encouraging environment. She is a true role model, in every sense of the word, to both players and parents alike. Thank you Melissa for all of your hard work, not only for supporting your own kids, but for supporting all members of the club!”
Thank you, Melissa, for giving of your time and energy to enhance the experiences of your children and soccer community.
Soccer communities across the world depend on the support of dedicated parents and the Parent of the Month contest recognizes those whose commitment to their children’s soccer involvement goes above and beyond what’s typical. If you know someone who fits the bill, nominate them!
