(October 3, 2018) Throughout the last weekend, nearly 400 hopeful players took part in Alberta Soccer’s U13 Identification Events in both Edmonton and Calgary. The event, which was in addition to the Rural ID Event in Red Deer in early September, allowed coaches to evaluate registered players for possible inclusion into the training component of the U13 Provincial Team Program.

Both events were met with enthusiasm from the players, parents, coaches, evaluators, and local technical leaders. Coaches were able to get a true sense of the players’ abilities and look forward to the upcoming training season.

What’s Next
Players selected from the first two identification events have been invited to participate in a final ID event in mid-October. From there, coaches will review and select the players who will be invited to join the Winter  Training Program, which begins in late November.
