(September 3, 2018) Alberta Soccer just wrapped up its second season of multi-sport summer camps – offered in partnership with Volleyball Alberta and Basketball Alberta. The camps, which aligned with the Long Term Player Development plan and focused on physical literacy, provided 6-12-year-old children with a diverse and high-energy summer camp experience.
In addition to the three core sports, this year’s camps also featured bonus gymnastics and athletics sessions.
“It’s exciting to work with other Provincial Sporting bodies to help make sport accessible to more children,” said John Clubb, Alberta Soccer Grassroots Development Manager. “Play Sports Alberta is a camp for children who wish to play all sports.”
Camp coach, Santi Muniz, reinforced this, describing the benefits of the multisport camp, “The camps were great and the kids’ willingness to learn and participate was exceptional. Each day the kids grew more and more passionate about each sport. Overall, the camp provided kids with the opportunity to develop and grow their passion/skills in both their preferred sport and other various sports.”
